APT CONTROLS TREATS TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT AT VICTORIA HOSPITAL

Technology from the UK's leading provider of traffic management and vehicle access control technology, APT Controls, has been selected by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde for use at the Victoria Infirmary Car Park, Glasgow. The Grange Road car park, opposite the hospital, is to provide temporary parking for staff and visitors to the hospital, in advance of new car parks being built on the site as part of the New Victoria Hospital project, currently under construction.

APT Controls has successfully installed a single exit pay system at the Grange Road car park, with one pay and one automatic barrier from the proven MC range, controlled by a combined management cashier PC. Visitors to the site are required to take a ticket on entering the car park, and then pay on exit at the barrier.

The car park comes as part of the £100m investment in the new Victoria Hospital, scheduled to open in 2009. The £100m state-of-the-art new Victoria hospital will be one of the largest hospitals in Scotland, and is expected to treat around 400,000 patients each year.

The durable MC Parking Barrier is ideal for busy traffic situations requiring paid or ticketed access control, designed to handle continuous traffic flow with a rapid opening/closing time of just two seconds. The APT Controls range of barrier systems covers everything from simple, manually operated posts through to fast-acting, automatic systems for high flow traffic situations.
