    1. I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.Cathedral of the Sky is book 1.5 of the Pact Arcanum series. If you are a fan of paranormal/urban fantasy then this series is a must. It has it all, shifters, vampires, physic ability and space travel. Mr. Ahsanuddin creates a world so intriguing and attention capturing; the series is hard to put down once started. In this series, there are four races of people: HumansNightwalkers - VampiresDaywalkers - Vampires [...]

    2. Book 1.5 in the Pact Arcanum SeriesCould possibly be read as stand-alone, but the reader would definitely enjoy much, much more if the first book is read before this one.I received this book free in return for my honest review. I have not received any monetary compensation in return for this review, it is freely given. The world building & characterization in this series so far is phenomenal. I feel like I can visualize everything that's happening. I really developed a bond with these charact [...]

    3. Ever since first reading the little bit of information about Michael Danvers in the earlier Pact Arcanum novel, I've been fascinated with his character and wanted to know more, which was why I was extremely psyched with Arshad Ahsanuddin started writing this novella. It gives us a deeper look at Michael's character, how he became a pilot and member of the Spacer Guild at such a young age, and generally provides a deeper look at the Spacer Guild in general. Fans of the Pact Arcanum, you don't wan [...]

    4. I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.Arshad Ahsanuddin ‘s book Cathedral of the Sky (Pact Arcanum #1.5), is a well written story that grabbed my attention within the first few pages, and would not let go right up to the last page. The story was intriguing, the characters engaging, and the action consistently strong and well paced throughout.Emotionally - be prepared for some laughter and some tears. I definitely felt drawn into the characters, an [...]

    5. I was generously given a free copy of Cathedral of the Sky from the author in exchange for an honest review.Cathedral of the Sky occurs concurrently with Sunset, the first book in the Pact Arcanum series set in a unique, interesting, and complex world. It is the story of young Michael Danvers, the hero who saves the day at the end of Sunset. We already know about Michael's life--and his destiny which is where this book ends--and thus it is an expansion of that story from Michael's perspective. B [...]

    6. And Arshad does it again! Even knowing what was coming I still bawled my eyes out! There was no real surprise to this novel as I read “Sunset” first and this is just a spin off of one of the characters and tells us his story up to the same point, but I was enchanted. The year is 2039 and Michael Danvers is thirteen. He’s already taking college courses and his family has decided to vacation in Venice, Italy. Fed up with the constant monitoring of his parents and wanting to explore Michael sl [...]

    7. I completed this book on Wednesday, which is a very somber day because its 9/11. It was also my birthday and I decided to spend part of the day reading this book. Little did I know this book would cause me to burst out in tears, something that has never happened to me before when reading a book. And I have several favorite books and characters that I love in this genre that have moved me, deeply. This is book 1.5 in the Pact Arcanum series and it focuses on Michael, who we met in book 1 "Sunset". [...]

    8. Received a free copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.3-3.5 stars. Michael Danvers, a 13 year old human child prodigy is in Europe with his family when he “kindles” which brings forth his latent Sentinel gifts and becomes a shifter. This is mainly Michael’s story and we follow him as he leaves his family and instinctively searches out other Sentinels. He finds them, but the experience is not what he expected. Up till this point of the story, I would have rated it a 1.5 or 2 [...]

    9. 3.75(This book was provided for free by the author in exchange for an honest review. I read it as part of the DBML program through the M/M Romance Group. I have not read any other books in this series.)The story takes place in a futuristic version of Earth. The main character Michael is thirteen years old at beginning and fifteen at end. He is a child genius in science. Also at the beginning, he unexpectedly awakens to his true nature. He is not human. Instead, he is a Sentinel, genetically prog [...]

    10. A free copy of the book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Oh, man, this book was fun. Kept surprising me. Started like a vampire paranormal with Michael vacationing in Italy. Michael is child prodigy, like only thirteen. Not only does he witness evil vampires (Nightwalkers) for first time, but he awakens to his true nature as a magical Sentinel who is made to fight Nightwalkers. So he can shapeshift and fly and all that.Soon after this he decides to go to outer space. [...]

    11. Note: this book was given to me to write an honest review. This is the first book of Arshad Ahsanuddin's that I have read. I must confess I hadn't noticed the 1.5 after the title before I requested it. If I had I may not have requested it, knowing shorts between full length stories usually leave out some background details that are nice to have. So that being said, while I was reading the first few chapters I couln't stop myself from thinking that I was missing the full "world" picture. Descripti [...]

    12. Note: Book provided by author in exchange for a honest review. This companion novella was consistent with what I expect from this author. The writing style is descriptive, has a nice flow and the timeline is clear while filling in back story with time jumps. I can't say I'm a big reader of YA but this book was just great. It read easily and the growth of the character was wonderful. I loved learning more about the Spacer's Guild and seeing how Michael's character connected with the main story in [...]

    13. Mr Ahsanuddin is a sly fox: he has taken a side character of "Sunset" and has exploited his great potential by writing an entracte about him.He does that with exactly the same flair for the outrageously melodramatic that was such a relevant asset of Sunset. Emotions run constantly high in "Cathedral of the Sky" and the ending had me sobbing.Being a shorter (rather expensive for its length, I must say) and later effort, the author was able to amend the many tiny inconsistencies that disturbed the [...]

    14. (This book was provided for free by the author in exchange for an honest review. I have not read any other books in this series.)Having never read any of the author's work before I wasn't sure how well I would understand the basis of the story. The author did a magnificent job of allowing this to be a stand alone story and making me want to read the rest of the books in the series. The story line kept me guessing where the next turn would be. The main character's age threw me for a bit of a loop [...]

    15. Cathedral of the Sky is another novella in the Pact Arcanum series. This is my favorite of the supplemental stories that Arshad has put out to enrich his world by far. The reason for that is the character that this book focuses on. Michael Danvers call sign Icarus had a fairly small, but extraordinarily vital role in Sunset (Pact Arcanum 1). Michael was a very intriguing character with not much background given despite his amazing circumstance, that has now changed. I can't recommend this series [...]

    16. Cathedral is a sequel as well as a prequel, but it definitely stands on it's own! Because I did read Sunset first, I "knew" Michael already, was eager for his story. Cathedral of the Sky did not disappoint. Michael. well, they say he makes life interesting, and that he does! This is so much more than a coming of age tale, even though it begins with a brilliant boy of 12. His life goes beyond extraordinary. Heart wrenching, heroic, he is Icarus. His eyes were open, and he was not afraid.

    17. I enjoyed reading the book once i got into it. It was a little confusing in the beginning but things quickly became clear. I was saddened by the events that happened to the young character. It wasnt quite a gay romance its more of a sci fi or fantasy. I alqays enjoy a good story but tend to go for the hea. The author did go into detail which is great. I did however get a melencholy feeling because the main character never saw his parents again. He never got to resolve that issue and only reunite [...]

    18. Oh this one made me so sad!!! Poor Michael did not getting to do what he wanted to in person but, it did get done. To the epilogue. I'm so glad that in the end we see Michael & Will together & Will finally telling Michael how he felt. Even though we see Michael from 13-15 yrs of age, he was pretty mature, though there were a couple of times that he did act his age. Off to the next one.

    19. (Copied from - jccsst-random/201)When I first got this book from the author, I didn’t really understand the whole 1.5 listing in the series. Now that I’ve read it, it all makes sense. In the first book of the series (Sunset (Pact Arcanum #1)) there was a character that your introduced to at the very end of the book, and he makes a huge impact but we know little about him. Michael saves the world as we know it, he comes into the story, saves the world and that’s it.Arshad did this one right [...]

    20. Oh, man! *sigh* I took a while to read this and now I remember why. This is #1.5 in the series. This just a behind the scenes look at some of the side characters in the first book. If you have read the first book then the characters are slightly familiar and you know, pretty much, what the end of the story will be. (As a little look into book two it is more a prequel to the first so order is a little strange.) This is some writing by the author. I have loved all of the series that I have read. I [...]

    21. It was pleasure to read this. Seeing the previous events in the book but from a different perspective was entertaining. Even knowing what happens to Michael Danvers doesn't lessen the impact of the story. The world building is rich and detailed. I loved being able to see Michael's history. How he first became a sentinel. How he became a spacer captain. His friendship with William. So fascinating to read. The funeral from the first book took on new meaning after reading this book. I liked the litt [...]

    22. Even though I knew what to expect, as Michaels story is touched upon in book one, I still enjoyed reading this shorter story in the Pact Arcanum series. It was interesting to get to know the character of Michael in greater depth than the occasional times he's mentioned in the first one. I just hope you have lots of tissues ready when you get near the end of this book, I did because I knew what was coming but it was still heart wrenching in a big sobbing out loud way. What I also liked about this [...]

    23. I only wish there had been one final chapter with the reactions of the general Spacer Guild to the news, and maybe the decision making that lead them to (view spoiler)[give Nick that ship (hide spoiler)] in the previous books.

    24. A One Sitting Read, or A Read Till Your Eyes Bleed book.Once you pick this book up and start reading, you won't be able to put it down until it's finished. I know this for a fact as I'm sitting here in bed at 1:AM with burning eyes that I've already flushed twice with saline & too many times to count with tears. I highly recommend that you get the Audible version along with the ebook, so you can still listen to the book while mopping up your eyes with the Whispersynch thing let's you move se [...]

    25. I received this book from a friend. I absolutely loved this book. I have already gone to the web site to find out more. I got the free download of book one Sunset. Can't wait to read it and I will be getting the others of this series soon. The characters in this book were fantastic and the story kept me reading . I could not stop once I started. Great story!!!!!

    26. SublimeAn exquisite story. Beautifully written as expected. Mr. Ahsanuddin is in a class all his own. As if being brilliant wasn't enough.

    27. Would have liked a bit more depth on the character of Michael and more development on the overall theme, but an enjoyable read none-the-less (I sat up to finish reading it).
